Augie visit and October races

Brian ran the NIU Homecoming 5K and and Cassidy and I ran/walked.
Brian won his age division with a time of 20:50. Cassidy was very proud of him.
In october we headed back to Augie for Brian's 10 year class reunion. We got a hotel and stayed overnight. The Hellman's also went back so we got to hang out with them. Cassidy and Kayleigh thought it was great to spend so much time together and have adjoining hotel rooms.
Checking out the rock exhibit at Brian's old stomping ground as a Geology major.
The reason people spend so much money to go to Augie...the view.

No, they are not future Augie alums. Their parents are much to smart to allow them to pay that much money for school :)

Brian wanted a picture of the award they got from one of his years playing volleyball. Ahh, the glory days.
The girls "trying" to go to sleep, before we head out to the Blue Cat Brew Pub to catch up wtih old friends. No worries, we had a babysitter, we didn't leave them alone!
The sight when we arrived back to the hotel later that night. Looks like Cassidy is taking up more than her fair share of the bed.
The girls were so good the night before for the babysitter that they got tattoos. tongue and arm tattoos. Nothing says a first trip to college like a few tattoos.

Before we headed out the next morning we played swam and then played some games. The girls are being introduced to gaming. It went very well.
Can't leave the Quad Cities without a little Whitey's ice cream. It was delicious!
With Brian at the academy I still had to do my monthly late night of work, so Cassidy came and helped me out. She learned to make copies.
Staple papers
and work very hard...or is she watching something on the iPad..hmmm. She was a great worker on the couple of nights this semester she had to go to work with me. My students of course, thought she was great too.
We ended October with the Sycamore Pumpkin Fest 10K. We all wore our Halloween costumes, which Cassidy decided on. Thanks Gigi for the hats, and a little red duct tape can turn any old white shirt into a Waldo shirt.
It was fun running the race in costume (many people do, since it's the weekend before Halloween). Brian, of course, was faster than I was so when I came by I heard a lot of, oh we already saw the other waldo, I bet they're together.  Brian beat his previous time and I broke the hour mark, which was my goal. It was a fun race. Thanks Strocks for watching Cassidy while we ran and spending the day with us, parade and all (no pictures, I forgot the camera :(
